This weekend has been one of the best weekends we have had in a long time. The weather is beautiful and we have done so many fun things.
We started off Saturday with a baby shower for my cousin and his wife. It was a great idea. The husbands play basketball (Jon was so excited), the children run and play and the wives get time to chat. We had a great time and Hudson was exhausted after running around for 3 hours. I was so sad to miss my friend Morgan's baby shower in High Point. But I was there in spirit.
We came home, put Hudson down and had some friends over to watch the State/UNC game. It was so fun to have my best friend Woobs, her fiance, Jonathan's best friend Seth and his girlfriend over. Surprisingly no one yelled loud enough at the terrible Pack to wake up Hudson.
We picked up some Bojangles biscuits for dinner and played at the dog park.
This morning we woke up and had some good family lazy time. I guess that is what happens when your son wakes up at 6! After a few hours we motivated. We went to the flea market, ran a few errands, looked for a house, found a park for Hudson to run around and went to lunch.
We had a fun visit with Grandpa David, a run around the dog park and frozen smoothies. It has been such a great weekend. I got a little misty at the park because I thought about how lucky I am. I am so thankful to be Jonathan's wife and Hudson's mom. They are definitely the two best things that ever happened to me. I am so grateful every single minute for them.
(We also went to PetsMart and my puppy fever struck HIGH gear. There was a 6 week old golden retriever prancing around and Hudson and I both squealed with delight. Now to get that house so we can branch out our family!!!!)
Get out and enjoy this weather and hug your family super tight!

Freaky Friday
After complaining about not feeling well for a few days, Jonathan forced me to go to the doctor yesterday. He literally had to drag me there. I knew there would be a strep test involved and I DO NOT do well with those. I have strep and a viral infection. Sweet Jonathan took the day off to spend with Hudson and play Mr. Mom. He did a great job. He took Hudson to the park, they got Jonathan's truck serviced (Hudson LOVES going to Thompson), went grocery shopping, cleaned up and made dinner. I thought I had bed sores last night because I stayed in bed all day. It was fantastic.
This picture popped up on my phone while they were at the park
Anyways. The point of my story is a crazy thing that happened at the doctor. I was talking to him and asking how his new little baby boy is doing. I asked his name and he said Hudson. I laughed and said I had a Hudson too. I then asked his full name and he said Hudson Andrew. I was shocked and clearly it showed on my face. I have an Andrew Hudson! What a small world!
Happy Friday!

Shoes galore
I took on the task of cleaning out Hudson's closet today. I never look forward to this because I always get really sappy. Even though I am only putting the clothes he has outgrown in boxes, I still realize how fast my little monkey is growing up.
The last thing I did was tackle his shoe buckets. I was astounded at how many I found. After going through all of the sizes I looked over at the pile that he fits in now.
Example 1,489 of my shopping problem.
My 19 month old son has 18 pairs of shoes that currently fit him (1 pair was on his feet during this photo). I mean, come on! 19 pairs?!?! After looking at them I realized that he only wears about 4 of them. It seems I need to start spicing up his wardrobe and putting different shoes on his little feet. And maybe turn my head the next time I think about buying him more shoes.

Sir Laughs A Lot
I have said it before and I will say it again, Hudson keeps me on my toes and makes me laugh all day long. I have captured a few hilarious moments over the past week with my cell phone.
Licking the kitchen table
Helping sort the laundry
Clapping for Oprah
Moving his chair onto Bailey's bed to watch a cartoon. Bailey was not happy
Moving from his booster seat to the top of the table to eat lunch
Playing tug of war with Bailey at the park
Reading the sports page with his eggo (this has become a habit)
Hanging out (literally) of his crib
He truly is a mess in all sense of the word. He knows that he is funny, he knows that what he does is silly and he loves to see your reaction. I am so thankful that I am able to stay home with him and see all of these funny habits in action.

Go Pack!
We had a fun event at the RBC Center today. Jonathan worked for the basketball team for 5 years and today they honored all basketball players and staff over the past 100 years. They hosted a brunch and gave everyone tickets to watch the game in suites.
After a lot of thought we decided to take Hudson since he would be able to play and roam around the suite. Plus we wanted to show him off. BAD, BAD idea.
He was fantastic at brunch. He sat so sweetly in our laps, ate and enjoyed a great video they put together about Wolfpack basketball history and clapped his sweet, little hands when anyone else did. It was such a fun event. Jonathan has met and worked with so many players but I always get a little "star" struck. To eat one table away from David Thompson and Rodney Monroe is pretty cool.
(My sister called and asked what famous people we saw and I got so tickled. I was pretty impressed that coming from a Tarheel fan she spouted out so many names.)
When brunch was ending he started rubbing his eyes and being very clingy. I asked a server for milk and he told me there was no milk in the RBC center. DEVASTATION!!!! Milk is always our saving grace.
As soon as we got to the suite, he lost it. Granted, it was smack dab at nap time but we thought for sure he would be entertained with the lights, sounds, music, game and people and kids who we sat with. I packed toys, juice, snacks......... nothing worked.
I became the panicky mom. You know the one who turns red, starts sweating and gives her husband the glare of death? That was me. (Thank God I have a husband who rolls his eyes and laughs at me.) Thanks to our private server (box suites are the best) we found some milk. But someone was past the point of wanting milk. He wanted his bed and silence.
So 10 minutes into the game the Bazemore family left. And 2 minutes after being home Hudson was passed out.
I am so proud of him for holding up for so long and allowing us to attempt being away at nap time. He does look precious in his wolfpack gear.

Sunshine!!!
The past few days have been so nice outside. We are used to bundling up to go play but we got away with a light jacket this week. Yay! Hudson definitely needs at least an hour a day to run around and get his crazies out.
We spent almost 2 hours at the park Wednesday running and digging. Hudson does not like the swings anymore, so he just walks around and looks at everything. He is my little inspector. He loves to chase anyone around a field. And he found some stairs that he liked to climb over and over and over again. Leaving was the hard part. As soon as I went to grab him and put him in the stroller he started screaming. And it did not stop for 45 minutes. Poor guy kept yelling, "I don't, I don't." Which I assume means I don't want to leave. We are ready for spring days!

Daddy takes Hudson to the library
Sunday afternoon, Hudson and Jon went off for a little boy time. They had a few errands to run and one was to take library books back and get new ones. Hudson loves to read and we are so thankful he does! Jonathan sent me this picture from the library....
Hudson usually takes off running to the board book area, throws a few books around and then goes to a mini table to read. Jonathan said Sunday he climbed on the table and tried to read on top of it while another little girl was sitting nicely at the table. Such a climber. Jon got him off which lead to tears and a short library visit.
Hudson was so proud to show me his books when he got home. It was at dinner time so I promised him we would read them in the morning. I laughed when I saw how many penguin books he picked out. He has a new obsession with the movie "Happy Feet." You can imagine my surprise when I opened the penguin picture book and found these pages.....
These pictures are really blurry thanks to my cell phone, but one says "Penguins pooping" and shows the action and the other says "penguins bumping." Clearly daddy lost all privileges of helping Hudson find books!

Anyone up for some pizza?
Last night Hudson woke up around 10 crying. Let's be honest..... 10 on any night is late for me. I was a walking zombie at that point and crawled into his big boy bed with him. He slept perfectly. However, he sleeps like a fish out of water. At one point I had to anchor my leg on the ground so I would not fall off. He kicked, hit and flipped all over me all night. I was too afraid to move him because I wanted him to sleep. And I could not leave him there alone because we do not have rails for his bed yet. He is staying in his crib as long as possible! I think I snapped this picture around 3. He looks so big. When he woke up this morning and saw me in his bed he started laughing hysterically and saying, "oh mommy."
We spent the morning at Marbles. That place is toddler heaven. We went with my cousin who has a sweet little girl 2 months older than Hudson. It was so funny to see how they played with completely different stations. Anyone up for some pizza?
I have to throw this picture in for laughs. This is Hudson's new face when you ask him to say cheese....
