Here is a little video of Hudson talking. The seat he was sitting on shifts at the end which is why it turns off. He always says "cheeeeeeeeese" instead of "please." Something we are working on. And if you mention Sissy he looks for her to make sure she is in his sight. His voice is just precious!

Just a day in the life of Hudson
The life of an almost 2 year old really is adorable. He finds the craziest things to do.
I heard a bunch of stomping around when I was in the shower. This is why.... my closet must have been the entertainment.
He actually got Bailey to climb in the chair today. Usually I would not condone this behavior but I was laughing so hard I thought I would die.
I took his outfit off for dinner and while I was cleaning the kitchen he managed to take his diaper off and role around
I have to stay on my toes to keep up with him! But look at that face, how can you get mad at that?!?!

23 months
In less than a month my baby boy will be 2. It is so hard to believe. Every month is so much more fun and challenging at the same time. He definitely has his own personality and knows what he wants.
He is the sweetest boy. He loves to give you hugs and pat your face. He will say "night night mama, night night daddy, night night sissy" over and over and over at bedtime. He does not like to go to bed until he has hugged and kissed all 3 of us. He wants Bailey (sissy) with him at all times and if she is out of his sight he will go find her.
He is into everything and loves to push my buttons. If he does not want to do something, he will throw himself down in a heartbeat and let me know it.
He loves his friends. He plays so nicely with all children but gets really excited to see his buddies.
He is into all boy things- cars, trucks, airplanes, trains, tractors, cars. He loves animals and is not scared of them at all. He loves to read and sing.
He is happiest when he is outside.
He says about 75 words. He is shy around people and it takes him a while to warm up each time he sees them. He loves to talk on the phone, especially to his cousins Will and Caroline.
He is a dancing machine.
He is always fashionable and tells me what he wants to wear and does not want to wear.
My little boy who used to eat any and everything has been replaced with an over picky child. He still will not eat meat but will stuff his face with fruit.
His favorite games are to play chase and hide and seek. But instead of hiding behind something, he tucks his body on the ground like this.
Overall he is a great listener. I am shocked everyday at what he understands. I can name almost anything and he will go get it. I will ask him a question and he will respond. Most of the time he responds with a no and a head shake but it is still entertaining.
I love him so much that it sometimes hurts to see him growing up so fast. But he is happy, healthy, loving and sweet and I could not ask for anything more!

Got to be NC fest
Since the world was supposed to end today, we decided to live it up and have a ball.
It started with Brueggers for breakfast and then a quick yard sale with Bebe. She found Hudson the coolest Thomas the train storage chest that has a seat on top. Hard to explain but so cool.
Then we went to the NC Festival. We looked at tractors
Went through a petting zoo. Hudson would not leave until he fed every single animal at least once.
Next we headed over to the pony ride. I was a little nervous about this. He has never sat on a pony (other than his 100lb sissy dog). But he LOVED it. He lit up from the moment he sat on Freckles. God bless that horse. He thought she was so funny and he loved waving to daddy and Grandpa. I really think we may need to add pony to his birthday list.
We found Grandpa and Pat and grabbed a quick hug and picture with them. Pat got to judge the BBQ competition. 32 plates!
We walked around a bit and saw these baby ducks, which I called chicks. (mommy brain). How cute are they?
Hudson loved this
He also tried to feed a goat in a cage some of his chex mix. So thoughtful to share.
We ventured down to the rides. We were a bit worried because Hudson has never been on a ride. Hudson and I rode the Bumble Bee first. She went up and down but not too fast. It started off well but he was ready for it to end after a while. So was I.
Then the boys rode a big slide. Jonathan wanted to do it over and over again but Hudson had his eye on a train.
This train used up all of our tickets. We rode it over and over and over. And each time we got off Hudson cried. My boy loves a choo choo
After our meltdown was settled we saw our playgroup friends Bryan, Sterling and their little boy John. That calmed Hudson down and now he was ready for the carousel.
We were completely exhausted after this. We walked along the tractor parade and then decided it was time to go home. 4 hours in the 90 degree heat was a lot. But it was the best time we have ever experienced as a family. I love to live though Hudson's eyes. To see how excited he gets, to see the joy in his eyes when he sees an animal or a train. He is such a good, good boy. He took a great nap at home and when he woke up he was ready for the pool. My kind of guy!
If you are in Raleigh this weekend, I really encourage you to go to the Got to be NC Festival. It is wonderful. My entire family left happy!

Hudson and friends
Hudson has the most adorable friends. I just adore them. And I love my mommy friends so much. We are both so lucky to have them around! Here are a few pictures of Hudson and his friends from this week.
Hudson and Carter play SOOOOO well together. They loved racing on their trucks this week and sharing goldfish.
Hudson and Will sat on this stump forever at the park. They even high fived each other, I guess the stump was that cool.
There is just something about little boys... too cute!

My confessions
I have not done one of these in a while...
I hope that Jonathan never ever cheats on me. I think that is one of the worst things you can do to someone. I also hope that if for some reason he does, the woman is a lot prettier than the lady Arnold chose.
Apparently I woke up around 4 last night and thought our house was on fire. Jonathan said that I woke up, screamed and ran around sniffing all the walls and looking out the window. Then I got back in bed and fell asleep like it never happened. I have laughed about this all day long.
Mob Wives on VH1 is my new addiction. Total trash tv. Between that and all the Real Housewives series running right now, I may lose my remote control priveledges.
I ate so, so healthy all day, run 3 miles and walked tonight with the boys. I rewarded myself by eating 6 cookies. I just meant to eat 1.
I am now obsessed with Home Goods. So affordable.
Hudson is really learning how to push my buttons. He is into EVERYTHING. Cooking at night is just impossible. I cannot leave him alone for a minute because something will be destroyed.
I am trying to figure out how I can keep a hen coop on our patio.
I still hate laundry
I also still hate finding Jonathan's dirty shoes on my clean kitchen counter and the toilet unflushed.
I am reading a great book, "Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter"

Just another day
I turned 29 today and much to my surprise, the world did not stop. A birthday is just another day. I had a total breakdown last night. I do not know what hit me but I just burst into tears. I could not even explain to Jonathan what was wrong.
I just felt old. I feel like I should have done some huge things by 29. Like I should be saving the world from something or making a difference. He was so sweet. He knew just the right things to say. He told me that I am doing huge things everyday by raising our little boy, teaching him wrong from right, teaching him new words, planning playdate and social activities, loving him and being there for him. He told me what a great wife I am and how I am the one who keeps this house running. And his words truly were the best gift I ever could receive. I don't necessarily need to save the world, as long as I raise a sweet, respectable little boy then I have done something right.
I had a great birthday. I felt so loved and appreciate so much everyone who reaches out just to say Happy Birthday. Our house looks like something tragic has happened. I have 6 huge bouquets of flowers scattered around. All of which Hudson likes to say are "smelly." My boys gave me a beautiful necklace and some things for the house. My family and friends all sent sweet things. Jonathan showed up after work with a brown bag from the ABC store because he knew I would need a drink after the traumatizing cry last night. And Hudson told me more than once that I was a "good dog." How special right? My niece and nephew called me bright and early just to say I love you and then Will told me 29 was sooooo old.
We went to a special birthday dinner last week so all I wanted tonight was our usual Moe's Tuesday. Yes, we eat there every Tuesday.
I love my family and friends and I am so grateful that I had a day to be reminded just how lucky I am. I am sure my husband is already bracing himself for the gigantic meltdown that will occur when I turn 30. Maybe botox is covered in our flex spending plan?!?!

Week recap
This week mainly consisted of taking care of Jonathan. But aside from running 2 pages of delayed errands, we did do a few fun things.
We had a fun play date with Carter (Bad mommy forgot the camera)
Celebrated Nanny's 80th birthday. Hudson thought it would be funny to pick his nose while everyone was watching.
We had a movie day while it rained
We went to the museum. Hudson has never run around so much in his life. He LOVED seeing the fish!
The boys took me out to an early birthday dinner at a great Seafood place. Hudson enjoyed having his own butter with hushpuppies. A boy after my own heart.
We have loved having Jonathan home all week and are so glad he is feeling better. We had some great family time and are so blessed to have each other. I have a feeling it will not be pretty when he leaves for work Monday. Hudson has become an even bigger Daddy's boy and I have loved having him here.
I turn 29 Tuesday. I am so depressed about it. It just sounds old. My sister is 8 years older than me and I remember thinking how old she was when she was my age. Now here I am. 1 year from the big 3-0. Time for a drink!
