We started off the morning with a battle over getting dressed. Hudson hates getting dressed lately and I always walk away dripping in sweat from wrestling the wild beast. Today I gave in after the 50th time of him saying, "I do by myself." This is what I got
We went to the library to get new books and I lost Hudson. Literally. I was doing the self checkout and he was standing with me. He kept inching and inching away. I thought he was going to sit on a stool but as I turned to check out the last book and get our receipt he disappeared. I did a big lap around the library and then started to panick. I was screaming his name. 2 of the librarians know us very well so they got up and started to help me. I dropped everything and ran outside. The library has slidding glass doors and goes out to a busy parking lot so I freaked out that he could have walked out alone. I came running back in and ran to the storytime classroom. He was sitting in the corner reading a book. Thank God he was ok but I swear my heart stopped. I squeezed him so tightly for the longest time. For an hour I could hear my heart beating. It was the worst feeling I have ever felt. That has never happened to be before and it proved that even the most protective mom can let a horrible thing happen in 2 seconds.
We recovered and came home for a picnic.
Hudson has not been napping in his crib. He fights the battle. In all honesty since he is almost 3 he should probably be in a big bed but until he insists, I am not moving him. He finally passed out with Bailey.
We went to the airport playground while we waited for Jonathan's flight
And then went to eat outside at our favorite pizza place
I wish the 80 degree weather would stay for a long time!!
Thank God Hudson was found and Jonathan is home safely.
Soo scary!! It probably felt like 2 hours instead of a few minutes. It's crazy how fast they get away from us!!
ReplyDeleteHudson is so adorable.
