Past few days

Warning- too many pictures are in this post

This past weekend was another busy one.

We had our Christmas card picture taken. Here are some out takes.

Saturday Jonathan went to the State game and Hudson and I were able to play with Woobs and Matt. They are so wonderful with Hudson and we had so much fun. There really is nothing better than a wonderful friend. Especially one who loves your baby!

Saturday night my dad and Lisa brought Hudson some hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Yum! But please, I am begging everyone. If you are going to bring something fattening into this house, just buy enough for Hudson. I keep finding myself eating it all! :)

Sunday, Hudson woke up with a fever and a tummy ache. He was very clingy all day.... which I loved.

We attempted to run a few errands. PetsMart seemed to perk him up. He loves looking at all the animals and finding Bailey new toys. We came home for a nap, which was too short! We played at the park, hoping the fresh air would help. Hudson loves to play outside and always cries when we have to leave.

His fever came back last night and he woke up crying around 4. Bless his little heart. I finally got him situated (sans clothes) around 6. I hope he sleeps for a while and wakes up feeling a little better. I hate to see him so miserable.

Hudson and Daddy time

Last Friday Jonathan took the day off work. I blogged earlier about surprising Papa at work. But what I did not tell you was; I had a morning to myself..... insert sound of angels singing. Jonathan went to get his truck serviced and took Hudson out to eat breakfast. I wish so badly that I had a photo of them eating together. More important, I wish I knew if-
A. Hudson wore a bib
B. If Jonathan put a place mat down or let him eat off a dirty table
C. Hudson sat in a highchair cover or a dirty plain highchair.
All of these things Jonathan said yes to, but I have a feeling it was a germ fest.

I do however have photos of Hudson playing while they were at the dealership. We go to Thompson Cadillac and they are the best! Sweet, sweet Regina is always there to love on Hudson and she sent me these great pictures. Yes, that is right. My husband did not take one single picture but Mrs. Regina came to the rescue. I heard that Hudson had a ball, sure looks like it.

This and That

- Hudson slept through the night last night! Glory, Glory Hallelujah! He also took a 3 1/2 hour nap yesterday. It is amazing what a good night of sleep will do for you!

- We let Hudson watch 1 cartoon at night, The Fresh Beat Band, and it seems Jonathan and I like it more than he does. We catch ourselves singing their songs all the time. Hudson loves all the music and spends 30 minutes dancing. Sadly I looked for a CD or DVD for our car the other day and could not find one.

- Why is Bristol Palin still on Dancing With the Stars? I refused to watch the show this year because I did not really like the cast. I deleted the series from our DVR but I still find myself flipping to it on Monday and Tuesday nights to watch a little of it. I cannot stand Bristol. I am not sure how she is a "star." And I am pretty sure that our dog has more rhythm than she does.

- Hudson has his first goose egg on his forehead. He took a tumble down 3 stairs. Right in time for our Christmas card pictures to be taken. Poor little guy. He was so brave and only cried for 2 seconds. Me on the other hand..... let's just say I freaked out.

- My Woobs is coming into town this weekend. You probably know that is what I call my best friend Liz. I cannot wait to see her.

- We found a new park in Cary, Kids Together Park. It is the nicest park we have ever been too. It has so many separate play areas. Hudson played with this sand table for almost an hour. He made a new little friend and they played so nicely trading shovels back and forth.

- We had story time yesterday, a class Hudson usually loves. But he was so tired that he was HOR. RI. BLE!!! He had fun running around before hand but once the class started and he had to sit still, he screamed. It was bad. He has never acted like that in public. The poor teacher said, "Let's remember parents that some kids are hear to listen. So if you have a rowdy child, please take them outside." All while looking straight at me.

- I am going to spend the entire day cleaning our disgusting house and doing all the laundry. Let's hope Hudson cooperates and is nice today.

Happy Thursday!

No likey the new time change!

My little guy who used to wake up between 7 and 7:30 is now waking up at 4:30. The first day he played in his crib for an hour and went back to sleep. Monday morning he refused to go back to sleep and called, "MAMAAAAAAAAAAA" as loudly as possible. This morning he woke up at 1 am. ONE AM! He woke up screaming. I ran in there, fully asleep, and scooped him up. I thought for sure that I could rock him and he would go back to sleep. Nope. Not the case. I tired everything. He SCREAMED. I would leave him for a few minutes and it would get worse. Finally, I was too tired to listen to it (bad, bad mommy). I got him out and we layed in the guest bed together. He finally fell asleep. I on the other hand felt like I was sleeping with a fish out of water. He moves so, so much in his sleep. It was all worth it at 6:30 when I felt someone petting my face. I opened my eyes to the sweetest little boy with the sweetest smile!

Anyways- the entire point of my story is that yesterday, I was in a fit of panic. Hudson was so off schedule, not happy and nothing I was doing was helping him. We have a no cartoon policy during the day (with the exception of a morning cartoon and a night time cartoon. Or when Jonathan is home and refuses to listen to the rules) but I scrambled to find something. I searched through the On Demand list and found "Finding Nemo". I turned it on and SILENCE. Not a peep for about 5 minutes. His eyes were glued to the tv. He laughed so much and turned into a happy guy again. I only allowed him to watch 30 minutes, but it was worth it so I could get a few things done.

At one point he pulled his car over so he could have a better seat......

Looks like we will be asking Santa for some Disney movies!

Fun things happening

Warning.... this post may contain too many pictures.

Jonathan took Friday off and we went to surprise Papa at his office (pictures in previous post). After coming home and taking a big nap, we headed off to the park. Hudson has a new love for sand. Much to my dislike. We end up bringing way too much home in our hair and shoes. We took some of the best pictures of Hudson EVER. I know it often seems like I post too many pictures of him, but I could honestly eat his little face off; he is so, so cute.

Saturday we took a 2 hour road trip to Ahoskie, NC so Hudson could meet (and surprise) his great grandmother for the very first time! They fell in love immediately!! It was so sweet to watch her as he played and ran around. His Grandpa David was there also..... with powdered doughnuts; yum! Hudson did great being in the car for 4 hours and looks forward to more visits.

This morning we woke up and darted off to watch Aunt Elizabeth run the City of Oaks half marathon. It was so chilly! We were lucky to be able to watch her from 2 different locations. She did awesome! We are so proud of her. Hudson made sure to clap for everyone.

We came home and all put on our pj's. Watching people run is exhausting. Ha. Tonight we are having homemade hibachi for dinner, my favorite!!! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Papa's office

Hudson went to surprise Papa at work today. He had so much fun! He took over everything, made some important phone calls and played on the computer. Hudson was not happy when we left. What a fun morning!

Toddler Heaven.... Toys R Us

My mom and I wanted to get a head up on Christmas shopping this past Monday so we took Hudson to Toys R Us. Luckily it was a quick trip. I knew exactly what I wanted. Well, what Hudson might want. As soon as we walked in I saw that Halloween flashlights were on sale so I grabbed one. Hudson LOVES a flashlight. He played so nicely while we pushed him around in the cart, often shinning his light in other customers faces and laughing. We grabbed everything we needed (2 carts full... toddler toys are in massive boxes) and left. Hudson loves looking at toys and points to most of them. On the way out of the store, he had a little fun.

When the ride was over, he hugged and kissed the frog. Is it Christmas yet? I am ready to open his gifts!!!

Happy 70th birthday, Roast Grill

Saturday we went to The Roast Grill block party to celebrate their 70th birthday. If you have not been to The Roast Grill, you are missing out. It is the only place that I will eat a hot dog. I love that it only seats a hand full of people and you sit at a counter, serves coke out of the old fashion bottle, the owners know our names and you get a tootsie roll when you leave.

http://www.newsobserver.com/2010/10/31/771638/at-the-grill-time-stands-still.html

They only serve hot dogs (mustard, chili, slaw and onions- NO KETCHUP), old fashion cokes, pound cake and baklava. That is it!

I love it (it may be another obsession) and I have been patiently waiting for Hudson to be old enough to eat a hot dog. We decided that Saturday would be the perfect day. They had the street blocked off so Hudson was able to run around and look at the old fashion fire truck (you know he is obsessed), jump in a bouncy house, watch the dunking booth and look at ole fashion cars.

He also had his 1st hot dog! He liked the bun more but he did eat almost half of his dog.

And when we left the paparazzi came out. Oh wait, that was just me and Jon.

Poor Hudson. Sometimes I feel like I live in his face with a camera.

Happy birthday to The Roast Grill. I hope Hudson enjoys eating there as much with us as I did eating with my dad on Saturdays when I was growing up!
