Heaven on the tv

Last week I stumbled over this show, Mighty Machines on Qubo. I always thought that was a Spanish channel. Anyways, um, this show is heaven for Hudson. It shows you how real machines and trucks work. I have never seen him sit still for 30 minutes. Heaven

We went to Pullen park 4 times in 8 days. We love that place so much
Thursday was my last day with my sweet Virginia before she starts school. I will miss my little helper

After 5 very long days, Jonathan is home. He came home yesterday to find Hudson, Sissy and I curled up in Hudson's bed asleep. I asked him what time it was and almost died when he said 4. We had been asleep for 4 hours. God bless single mothers, I do not know how they do it.

Rain fun

Ah, 3 blogs from me in one day!!!!

I am not a fan of rain. I will cancel plans in a heart beat if it is raining. I love an excuse to stay dry, in pajamas and play inside.

This morning I set up a hopscotch for Hudson. He thought it was really fun and it gave us a reason to practice colors and numbers.

Then we decided to play a game. We put tupperware on the numbers, found 2 bouncy balls and tried to throw them in the tupperware. The first person to 30 points won.

Hudson won. He has a really good shot! There is always fun to be had when I am with this little man.

Paddle boating

Saturday afternoon we took a trip to one of our favorite places, Pullen Park. Jonathan wanted to do the paddle boats so we strapped the life vest on & climbed in.

This was really fun for me considering....
1. I do not like to sweat.
2. I do not like to be hot.
3. I cannot swim. (I mean, I can. I just hate to get my hair wet.)
4. I do not like wearing things 1 million other people have probably worn (life vest)

Hudson was REALLY excited

I thought it was going to be a breeze but it was actually a really good workout. Especially since Jonathan wanted to go as fast as we could the entire time.

Little man was great at steering the wheel and thought it was so cool. It was really fun and something that I definitely recommend families to do!

It ended with the attendant getting mad at me. As soon as we got to the dock, I leaped out, leaving Jonathan & Hudson in the boat. Apparently getting out without tying up can lead to the boat flipping but seriously........... fend for yourself.

Recipes with pineapple

I am obsessed with pineapple. I could eat and eat and eat it. This weekend I tried 2 new recipes with pineapple.

Grilled pineapple and chicken quesadillas

So juicy and easy to make!

Use your choice of BBQ sauce, grill the chicken and pineapple. Add a layer of cheese to the tortilla and top it with what you want. We added black beans. It was delicious!!!!! Even Hudson loved them.

Crockpot chicken and pineapple

Crockpot! 1 cup pineapple juice 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/3 cup light soy sauce 2 pounds chicken breast tenderloins. Cook on low 6-8 hrs and they should just fall apart.

I added fresh pineapple slices too.

This was beyond delicious. There was a ton of sauce left in the crockpot so I put ours on top of brown rice and paired it with fresh snow peas.

We really enjoyed these 2 recipes and look forward to eating them again.

What we have been up to

I had a message from my dad the other day along the lines of "You need to post pictures on that thing so I can see what my grandson is up to." I laughed and assumed that thing was this little blog.

I have to admit, I have been lazy lately. I have taken a nap everyday with Hudson. I am not a napper so this proved to me how run down I was.

Bailey has even curled up with us everyday!

We enjoyed pool days with our friends

And open play at North Hills

We checked out 25 new books from the library and have been reading about all kinds of trucks, trains & planes. I finally finished reading Best Friends Forever, a book I started last summer; a cute book.

I have allowed Hudson in the kitchen and he enjoys cooking his lunch, making muffins & cookies.

Jonathan and I finally caught up on some movies, The Vow, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and 21 Jump Street (that was the longest, most horrendous 2 hours of my life).

We have spent countless hours watching the diggers, dump trucks & backhoes clearing the lot behind our house. I have also spent countless hours complaining about the noise.

And I enjoyed my thanks for being such a good mommy flowers

My eyes lit up when I  saw this little guy at my favorite store, Charlotte's the other day

For $250, I can dream he walked his way into my house......

Airport fun!

After a long but fun few days, Jon finally came home! Little man was very excited to see his daddy and watch his plane land.

What is cooler than watching planes land over a construction site?

On the way to the airport, we stopped for Chic-Fil- A ice cream. We pulled up beside a dump truck and Hudson rolled his window down to wave. The driver honked his horn and it startled Hudson so bad that he literally almost jumped out of his seat. Ice cream flew everywhere! It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. One of the first things he told Jonathan was that a dumptruck spilled his ice cream.

Oh, whoops

I walked into the playroom yesterday and saw this.
I said, "Oh, Hudson! I love that sunshine."

He looked at me and said, "You nut. That's a spaceship."

Oh, whoops.
