So Berry Good

We spent the morning at a little strawberry patch with a little boy who thought he was in heaven.

He wore his best farmer's gear and ate...

and ate

and ate

I think he may have picked 7 and ate 15. Good thing Jonathan was there to pick the rest. It is a lifelong dream of mine to live on a working farm. The whole concept of living off the land and in a big farm house with a red barn appeals to me. I am sure it is not that glamorous. Especially since I do not like dirt, manual labor or bad smells. And after today, I think Hudson may want a farm too! On the ride home we kept saying that this was one of our favorite things that we have done as a family. And looking back at Hudson's face with strawberry stains, I think he would agree.

Royal Wedding

Hudson and I slept in until 8 so I missed the Royal wedding. I was not planning on watching it and have complained so much about all of the coverage but after seeing bits and pieces on TV today, I wish I had watched it. Kate was breathtaking and they seem so precious together. I got a tad weepy watching it and hearing about all of their sweet moments and traditions. Talk about a fairy tale.

I cannot imagine the pressure that Kate felt. I was beyond stressed planning our little wedding. She had over 2 billion people watching. Oh the pressure!!!

I do have to say, the highlight for me was Prince Harry. He is a total hottie!

Now his wedding is something I will wake up at 4am for!

"Good girl"

Hudson is still sick but he did have a funny moment today. I was rocking him and he looked up, pet my face and said "good girl." I laughed so incredibly hard. He loves to tell Bailey she is a good girl. My sweet boy.

We went to the doctor this morning and he said it is just a nasty, nasty virus. He found 6 blisters on the back of his throat but his strep test came back negative. It is so frustrating that all we can give him is Tylenol. His fever was the lowest it has been in 3 days - 100.2. I just want my happy, wild boy back!

We have seen better days

Monkey is still not feeling great. I thought he was getting better today but I realized it was a Tylenol high. He came crashing down around 5 and went to sleep tonight with a fever of 101.9. He spent most of the day like this.

Is your heart breaking? Mine broke every time I looked at him. I apologize if you have called or emailed and I have not responded. I am taking full advantage of the fact that Hudson wants to snuggle with me.

I am trying to remind myself that better days like this one are around the corner-

I am worried every time an airplane flies by that he might break his neck.

Rocks?!?! We love rocks!

I could eat that face off. I just love him so much. Fingers crossed the days get easier and Hudson feels better soon.

My good news today is the royal wedding is less than 48 hours away. Thank you, Jesus. I am going to start throwing up like Hudson if I have to hear about it one more minute. I am sooooooo not into it.

What a day

We have had a day in our house. One of those where nothing goes right and then you get chunks blown in your face. For real. Chunks. From your 22 month old. Poor guy.

At least he had a smile with remnants of puke in his hair.

So pitiful

Finally asleep... with sippy cup in his mouth

Seeing him sick truly breaks my heart. Let's all cross our fingers this passes soon.

*Update. At 4:00 we have had 6 throw ups and still have a 102 fever. Bless his heart. My bed is his best friend.

Easter In Davidson

We had another great weekend in Davidson. Shopping with Puddles (she took him into all of her favorite stores and loudly announced, "Girls... this is him. This is my precious Hudson. There were about 10 stores), playing in the yard, a neighborhood Easter egg hunt, church egg hunt and lots of quality time with family.

Hudson loved the neighborhood egg hunt and picnic because I actually allowed him to eat candy!!! He walked around looking for eggs but instead of just putting them in his basket to open later, he opened them now to decide if he liked the candy or not. He left plenty behind. For dinner he had a brownie, ginger snaps, chocolate chip cookies, m&m's, 1 chicken nugget and fruit. The closest he gets to "sweets" in our house is a smoothie so he lucked out. This will probably explain why he was awake ALL night and has been so tired today that he has not stopped screaming. Made the ride home so joyful. Caroline was so proud to show him off and told all of her friends, "this is my cousin, baby Hudson." She definitely thinks she is the boss of him.

The Easter bunny came to Davidson! Mr. Potato Head was a huge hit and no other toys have been touched. He was so spoiled and got gifts from everyone.

Easter morning was so special. I have not spent it with my family in 4 years!!

I love seeing Hudson with his cousins because they play so sweet and nicely together. Caroline held Hudson's hand the entire weekend and dragged him everywhere with her, he loved it.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter!

Happy Easter

I cannot believe that it is already time for Easter. I feel like this year is flying by. My baby is 22 months old which means the big 2 is right around the corner. He makes holidays so much more fun and exciting. Last year he had no idea what was going on.

This year he says "egg", "bun" for Bunny and loves to read about Easter, look for eggs and just look at the Easter bunny. We had a cute Easter party with his friends yesterday.

We are going to Davidson this weekend to be with my family. We cannot wait to see Hudson go on 2 Easter egg hunts and celebrate with his cousins. I know he will be surprised to wake up to a basket full of goodies. And I am so excited about seeing him in his precious new outfit. (You know I obsess over his clothes).

Last night we were laying with him before bed and Jonathan asked if he had been a good boy and if the Easter bunny was going to come see him. Hudson's quick reply was "Oh. Noooooooooo." That seems to be his answer for everything these days.

Happy Easter!
