"Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree"

I would like to follow up the lyrics for this blog title with
"you are a pain in my ass. Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, you are looking so lonely"

Our tree looked perfect Sunday and I was so proud. But them Mr. Grabby fingers came downstairs and smash, crash there go my ornaments. My friend Michelle said we should move all the nice ornaments to the top, so I did. Turns out it was all my ornaments. So here he is trying to reach these.

Jonathan's friend said they bought wood ornaments and pipe cleaners and made candy canes and that we should try that out. I am just not sure that I am sold on that idea. Hudson has not shown any interest in the tree since yesterday.

Hudson has been battling a really bad cold this week and has been so clingy/fussy/needy. And my poor Husband is in his busiest season at work now that bowl games are getting announced. It seems he has been working all day and night. Tonight was the 1st night he was here to put Hudson to sleep since Friday. That cheered Hudson up.

Between blowing his nose on my shoulder, wiping boogers on me and anything else he can and coughing non stop, this is how he has been enjoying his week.

He pitched a fit before I allowed him to eat his waffle on the floor while watching Timmy Time (creepy child show- the animals speak but just by making their sounds. It is odd)Of course the slippers are on. He loves those.

He is so, so sweet when he is napping with his mouth wide open. Poor thing is having trouble breathing. Look how chunky his legs are!!!

(Such a lazy lounger these days)

Thankful!

We are so thankful to have had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our family! Holidays are so fun with a little one! We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many people we love.

We started the holiday weekend off with Jonathan's family and ended with mine.

Thanksgiving day..... (Hudson looked so sweet, I squeezed him all day!)

Somehow I managed to not take a single picture with my camera at dinner, whoops!

Friday we headed to my sister's house in Davidson. It was so fun to watch Hudson play with his cousins Will (4) and Caroline (2). They enjoyed themselves way, way to much. I have never seen Hudson laugh or play that hard. He loved riding in Will's Jeep, cooking in the diner with Caroline, having a sword fight (with wrapping paper) and playing super hero's, bath time and playing in Caroline's crib!

We also learned that Hudson likes baby dolls. Which was HILARIOUS. He loved pushing them around in a stroller and loving on them. But we made sure to tell him he could only do it at his cousin Caroline's house!

We came home to early Santa..... a train table!!!! It provided such entertainment today; even with just his slippers on!

What a lucky family we are!

Happy Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving. It is so nice to have a day that really makes you remember and reflect on what you are thankful for. I am so fortunate in so many ways and I need to remember that everyday, not just on Thanksgiving. I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving. Go out and play with some sticks and leaves!

P.S. Yes, my son is wearing a pink polo
P.S.S. I actually paid for that haircut today. I am pretty sure no hair was trimmed. All I heard was screaming.
P.P.S.S. The bucket used to be bright red.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas & 17 months

This is going to be a long blog because it may be the only one this week. Sorry.

Hudson will be 17 months old Monday!!! I am going to do a quick wrap up on some new milestones this month.

Words and Phrases: "dank you", He squeals and says "Sissy" or "dog" whenever he sees Bailey or any other dog. He loves to say "tickle, tickle" and tickle your skin. Milk, juice and cookie are favorite words. He is starting to really repeat words if you sit with him and point at pictures and books. The word "Mama" gets said about 1,000 times a day. Sometimes it seems for no reason at all. When we change his diaper he says "pee, pee." He loves his shoes and always wants to wear them. He enjoys pointing at EVERYTHING so you can tell him what it is. He babbles non stop. I often wonder what he is saying. I would love to go inside his little mind. He is so, so curious.

This month has also brought about many, many challenges with tantrums. I know that Hudson is just expressing what he wants and likes but sometimes throwing every piece of dog food out of the canister is not an option. And throwing food in public is not pretty. If anyone has any good suggestions on how to deal with this, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Yesterday, Christmas hit Raleigh. We started off the morning with breakfast and the Christmas parade with Aunt Elizabeth, Uncle Jason and Lucy.

I was so worried how Hudson would behave since we had to stand in a tight spot and he could not run around, but he lasted almost an hour and a half. We left before Santa but were able to watch the end of the parade from our house. Hudson loved the dogs, horses and marching bands.

We spent the afternoon and early evening at North Hills with my dad and his family. They had the tree lighting, fake snow falling, snowmen and reindeer walking around, the Sandbox band, a train ride, horse and carriage and of course Santa. What I thought was going to be a one hour event turned into 3 hours of fun.

I am definitely in the Christmas spirit which may explain why I keep getting in trouble when my husband sees all the packages that keep arriving at our house.

On another BRIGHT note... my Woobs got engaged Saturday! I am beyond thrilled! I was jumping around all night. I (and Liz) have been waiting for this for a long time. Haha. Let the fun begin.

Wordless Wednesday

* I know this is supposed to be wordless; but I need to describe what is happening in these pictures. This was how Hudson greeted Bailey when she came home from the groomers.

Thank you!

I want to take a minute to thank every one of you that come into our world and read my blog. I took a minute to look at the visits today and was amazed at some of the locations of our readers.

Canada, Hong Kong, Alaska and 14 other states across the Country are all BazeDays readers. I am just amazed and so, so grateful for everyone who even remotely thinks this blog is entertaining. I would love to know who each and everyone of you are.

My top reading states, aside from North Carolina are Illinois, Alabama and Tennessee. Thank y'all so much. You sure know how to make a girl feel special. This started out as a little way for our family to see pictures of Hudson and has slowly turned into a way for me to vent, an online journal of our lives, a way to connect to other moms and a hobby that I love.

I appreciate all of the support. Please feel free to leave comments on any post. I love reading blogs and would love a link to yours if you have one.

Happy Monday, friends!

Past few days

Warning- too many pictures are in this post

This past weekend was another busy one.

We had our Christmas card picture taken. Here are some out takes.

Saturday Jonathan went to the State game and Hudson and I were able to play with Woobs and Matt. They are so wonderful with Hudson and we had so much fun. There really is nothing better than a wonderful friend. Especially one who loves your baby!

Saturday night my dad and Lisa brought Hudson some hot Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Yum! But please, I am begging everyone. If you are going to bring something fattening into this house, just buy enough for Hudson. I keep finding myself eating it all! :)

Sunday, Hudson woke up with a fever and a tummy ache. He was very clingy all day.... which I loved.

We attempted to run a few errands. PetsMart seemed to perk him up. He loves looking at all the animals and finding Bailey new toys. We came home for a nap, which was too short! We played at the park, hoping the fresh air would help. Hudson loves to play outside and always cries when we have to leave.

His fever came back last night and he woke up crying around 4. Bless his little heart. I finally got him situated (sans clothes) around 6. I hope he sleeps for a while and wakes up feeling a little better. I hate to see him so miserable.
