Happy birthday to my best friend!!!!

Today is my best friend "Woobie's" birthday. It is not often that you find a friend ( of 10+ years) that no matter how far apart you are or how many days you go without talking, still understands you and feels like no time has past at all. Liz, I am so lucky to have you in my life and I could not ask for a better friend, maid of honor, Aunt to my son or Woobie. Happy, happy 27th birthday!!!! Jonathan, Hudson, Bailey and I send you big hugs! We love you.

Top photo 6 months, bottom photo 24 hours old!!

Dear Hudson,

It is so hard to believe you been with us for 6 months already. You have changed so much and teach us how to be better, happier parents everyday. We love you, Hudson and you have blessed our lives in so many ways! We cannot wait to see the man you grow up to be. Life gets better every minute.
Love,
Mommy and Daddy (Bailey too)

Stay forever 2009

The above pictures are our favorite from 2009

I usually do not care too much about New Years Eve but this year I cannot help but have bitter sweet feelings. 2009 was without a doubt the best year of my life. Jonathan and I got married, we survived my pregnancy hormones, we welcomed Hudson into the world, we grew closer to our family and friends, we moved into our house, we laughed more than we ever thought we could and we grew to be better, happier people. I wish I could put this year in a jar and keep it forever.

I know that 2010 will be a wonderful year too. We will celebrate our 1 year anniversary in January, Hudson will say his first word, take his first steps, have his first birthday, we will be able to watch our nieces and nephew grow up and we will be able to celebrate our friends and family getting married and some of them will be having children of their own.

So thank you 2009 for showing me what true love, happiness and inner peace is. And to you 2010, I cannot wait to see what you bring into our lives.

Photo of the week

This is my favorite picture of the week. I love that you can see the joy in Hudson's eyes while he is loving on his big sister.

Hudson and his duck

I think we have found who is going to be Hudson's favorite stuffed animal.

But I gave birth ......

This is my favorite line these days.... "But, I gave birth."

I have found that on the weekends Jonathan and I argue over who is going to unload the dishwasher, take the trash out, vacuum the stairs, etc. Anytime Jonathan suggest that I do something I just sigh and say, "I gave birth. You can do it." This usually makes Jonathan roll his eyes and say "You cannot use that forever." I beg to differ. For 9 months and 1 week, I carried around 40 extra pounds, had a little boy doing cartwheels in my tummy, and I got sick everyday. Not to mention that I often wet my pants. Giving birth to an 8lb. 9 oz. baby was not the easiest task either. So forgive me, but since I gave birth, you can take the trash out every once in a while and unload the dishwasher. And yes, I will still be using this line when Hudson is 30.

"We look old"

A few weeks ago my husband and I were looking at some pictures I had just printed out. We came across one from Hudson's baptism. It is one of my favorite pictures. In my head I was thinking how adorable it is. Much to my dismay, my husband loudly announced, "We look old in this picture." After I picked my chin up off of the floor, I said, "What? I love this picture." He said, "I do too. But we look old. Go look at an older picture of us and compare it to this." I immediately started looking around our living room. I found a picture (bottom). This picture was taken 2 years ago. I am the young blonde with only 1 chin. Compare that picture to the one at the top from Hudson's baptism. Now I am the brunette with 2 chin's and crow's feet. Wow, I thought. We do look old. When did this happen?!?! Thank you honey, for putting that thought in my head.
