Things I love this week

This has been a crazy week. We have been so busy and there is just no end in sight. Here are a few things I love this week...

1. McDonald's smoothies.... Sounds gross, I know but I am in love! Considering that I do not eat fast food, this says a lot that I found out about these.

2. My best friend being in town. I have laughed so hard that it hurts. I know she reads this so here is my favorite quote from this week- "They look like brother in sister." "No, they look like brother and brother."

3. My little cousin Daniel is getting married tomorrow. We love, love, love Renee and cannot wait for them to FINALLY tie the knot. Plus a family wedding = my sister and her precious little ones are coming to town!!!!

4. Tori Spelling's new book "Unchartered TerriTori". I found myself laughing out loud. "The woottle is on fire, the woottle is on fire."

5. Heidi filed for divorce and Spencer claims their relationship was "All a part of The Hills." Whhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!?! Say it is not so. They actually had a huge ceremony just for tv? So ridiculous.

6. I went in for my one year annual and cancer screening and I am not only NOT pregnant (always good to know) but I weigh 1 pound more than I did before I got pregnant. Thank you Hudson for keeping me so busy!

7. Hudson says his name now. "Huuuudssssssssssssnnnnn" He forgets the "O". It is adorable. We thought it would take him forever to learn how to say his name. This is a big deal considering he only says about 6 other words.

8. My husband is home for a weekend. Thank you God and baby Jesus.

9. Kettle chips. I could eat my face off with these things. I hate french fries but can eat an entire basket of these by myself. (Which I have done twice this week, thank you Mo Joe's)

10. Tan lines. Everyone looks better with a tan.

Mall trip from HELL

There are often times where I think "surely it cannot take this much effort to get Hudson and his things in the car and run 1 errand." Whenever we leave the house I always have my pocketbook and his bag full of diapers, wipes, a snack, juice, toys, books, nose wipes, sunscreen, bug spray, an extra outfit and bibs. Ridiculous, right?

So today I decided I did not need those things, I just wanted to run into Belk's to pick up a few pair of pajamas for Hudson. It sounded so simple in my head.

I left the store wanting to stab myself in the eyeballs. Here is a rundown of my mommy mistakes.

1. I went without a stroller. Carrying a 25 pound child who feels the need to lunge at every clothes hanger he sees is not fun.

2. We had been there for about 5 minutes when I heard the familiar moan and groan. Yep, Hudson took a poop. No diaper bag in sight. I cleaned it up as best as I could in the bathroom before we left.

3. We lost a croc. (I swore up and down that I would never put Crocs on Hudson, they are way to hideous but they are just so easy for him to wear.) It must have happened during one of the many tantrums he threw while lunging at clothes. I figured it out once we got to the car. I wanted to just forget it and leave the shoe there, but I knew that was ridiculous and lazy of me. Luckily we found it.... well the sales girl did and she so nicely walked over and pointed to it. She had no intention of bending down to pick it up for me, that would have been too helpful.

It was one of the more stressful situations I have put myself in, in a long time. Luckily we are home now and my little man is asleep and clean in his bed.

This picture has nothing to do with my post, I just like it.

Funny Hudson

Hudson was full of himself this week. I know I have said it before but he is into EVERYTHING, hilarious and constantly on the go.

Wednesday we went to the pool, came home took a bath and got straight in the bed for nap time. I let him sleep in just his diaper a lot because he gets so hot. Two hours later, I could hear him waking up over the monitor. I usually give him a few minutes to wake up before I go and get him.

I started to hear a rustling noise and then, "mama, mama, MAMA!" When I walked in to his room, Hudson was standing in his crib, completely naked and holding his diaper out for me. He said, "Hey mama." Thank goodness it was just a wet diaper!

Yesterday he was playing on the floor with his toys so nicely. He started crawling and took off towards Bailey. He hit her and said, "Ammmmmmmen!" I lost it. I am not sure if I have ever laughed that hard in my life. He has never said that word before but obviously he felt the Lord move through him!

Have a great weekend!

Busy Bee

Hudson has been a busy bee this week!

Jonathan was out of town for a few days.... I know, I know, I should not post that on the Internet but considering the police now circle our street because my across the street neighbor is a psycho drug addict, I feel safe sharing that with you. 3 police and the K9 unit were at her house this past Friday. (This is the 3rd time in 2 weeks that the police have been here.) What a sight to see. It sent me into a GIGANTIC nervous breakdown because I want her out of our neighborhood so badly. I was awake for 3 straight nights staring out the window in fear.

Anyways..... Hudson and I stayed as busy as we could hoping that it would make the time that Jonathan was away go faster. We went to the pool and library to read on Thursday, had a pool play date on Friday and watched all the neighborhood chaos unfold, went to story time on Saturday morning(Hudson crawled up to almost every child there and held his finger up to tell them he was "1"), went to the doctor- I thought he had an ear infection but it is just his teeth and went to Ransom's 30th birthday party. Sunday we went to the airport observation deck for an hour before we picked up Jonathan and Hudson loved it. He clapped at every plane that flew by. We also cried, cried, cried. Apparently getting 4 molars and another bottom tooth makes for one ornery baby! Not to mention last week he had 5 allergic reactions and we have no idea what they were to. We are now keeping track of all of his foods so we can try and pin point it ourselves before going to the allergist.

I know this post was a huge rant and I apologize. My brain is just so scattered right now. Da*n neighbor and new teeth!

Bath time

Hudson always finds a way to make me laugh. Bath time is a "Hudson and daddy" nightly routine. It is my 20 minutes alone to clean up dinner, put away toys and enjoy a little silence. I never knew that Hudson started doing this until I gave him a bath tonight..... clearly he is either impatient or loves a bath.
