Thomas, Hudson and Bailey

Hudson and Bailey are obsessed with each other. He does not like when she leaves his side. Somehow he got her in his Thomas the Tank Engine tent today. I laughed for a good 10 minutes. Hudson even read her a book. Life is much easier when I have a free babysitter, thanks Bailey.

Big Boy

I had a moment today where I looked at Hudson and realized what a big boy he is. He is so independent. He tells us what he wants or when he needs our help. He does a lot of things by himself. He will be 2 in a few months. Unbelievable. I thought saying he was 1 sounded old, but saying he is almost 2 makes me want to throw up.

I always think he looks older in shorts. I have no idea why. But here is my proof.
(His daddy got him dressed today. Clearly. The shoes...total eye soar)

Run DMC Adidas? Apparently all little boys need them.

We spent so much time outside this weekend and had a blast. He is so glad to have his water toys back!

Borders

I was so sad to learn the Borders bookstore near our house is closing. I love that store. I love to go by myself, pick out some books, grab a magazine and drink a coffee. I find it my place of solitude many of Saturdays. Is that sad? Well maybe. But we love books so much. Hudson loves to read. He loves for you to read to him and he really loves to "read" to you.

Tonight we went to dinner and headed over to Borders. Everything in the store is marked at least 20-40% off. They also have a lot of stuff on a $1 aisle. Going with a little one may not have been the best idea. At one point he had 5 books in his hand and was getting furious because he kept reaching for a 6th but would drop all of his other books. I knew we had a little window to shop and I spent my time in the children's section. I could have spent so much more money. Can a little boy ever have enough books? Hudson got some great books at a great price and Jonathan even got a few. I hope to go back this weekend to get some more for Hudson and a few for myself. And maybe they will have marked the prices even more.

Afterwards, we ran by Rite Aid to grab a few quick things. When I walked in I saw all the Valentines candy marked down. I really should be ashamed to show you this but I will anyways.

Now if you will excuse me, I am off to my candy anonymous meeting.

Thursday with the Bazemores

Hudson is now signed up for preschool for the 2011-2012 school year. I know he is going to love it. I cried a lot about it yesterday but I know it is best for him. His school days are beginning. Sniff, sniff

I am now officially a Bazemore according to the DMV. So what if it took me over 2 years to get over there. After waiting for an hour I realized why I kept putting it off. And what is with the man who takes your picture? He does not even warn you. He asked me a question and in the middle of my answer he took the picture. I am sure that looked great..... So looking forward to that when it comes in the mail.

I am so excited because we are spending Easter in Davidson this year. We have not spent Easter with my side of the family in 4 years! I cannot wait to see the cousins play and have an Easter egg hunt together. My sister's town is so cute. I would move there in a skinny minute.

My husband is now a Gleek!!! He loves Glee. He would probably tell you he does not but he does.

Hudson thinks it is fun to wake up before 6am now. Not fun for us. Really not fun when 10am comes around and he is rolling around the floor whining.

I have not cleaned our house or done laundry in over 2 weeks. I win the award for worst housewife.

Hudson ate 24 pieces of friend shrimp last night. Oink, oink. (baby shrimp)

Being a mom is the best. I love every minute of it. I am constantly laughing at Hudson. Like right now... he is walking Bailey around the house on her leash. And when she stops he says, "Ughhhhhhhh Sissy" and pulls as hard as he can.

Catching Up with Hudson at 20 months

This post will be just about catching up with what Hudson did this past month. He has really become Mr. Personality and I have become Mrs. Fine whatever you want to wear, just put it on so we can go!

He loves to pick out his own shoes

He loves to walk around with a chapstick and a coupon from Old Navy

This is how I found him when I got out of the shower Saturday morning

He loves spaghetti

He loves the park

He loved celebrating Bailey's birthday

He loves how his big boy bed is starting to look. We still have so much to do to get his room switched from a nursery to a big boy room. He walks up to his sheets and makes a monkey noise.

We are so happy Jonathan is home. He was gone 14 out of 22 days so far this month. It is a struggle but he loves his job and I love all the time I get with Hudson. It just makes the time we have with him all the more special. Since Jonathan was in Florida this past week, he brought Hudson back a Mickey Mouse stuffed animal. That thing was dragged all over yesterday... to the park, out to dinner, to read books, to sleep with and this morning it was the first thing Hudson handed me when I went in to get him.

He is talking so much more and is very aware of what you are saying and asking him. Last night Jonathan even commented about how much more Hudson can say now. He loves to sing a random song he made up, "Night night, night night, night night....." He can tell you where anything that you have misplaced (or he has hidden) is. I asked him yesterday where my ipod was and he went and grabbed it from under a sofa pillow. He is very sneaky. He has a huge fascination with putting things in the potty.

He is still obsessed with all dogs and calls them all "sissy." He also calls Jonathan and I over to him like we do to Bailey- patting his leg. He loves to read, color and play with stickers. Bathtime is his favorite time of day. He loves all things car, truck and airplane. He loves music and to dance.

He is still pretty picky with food but his new favorites are fried shrimp, quesadillas with sour cream, spaghetti with chicken hidden in it, pizza, fruit (he would survive off fruit), grilled cheese, carrotts, peas, corn, cereal with milk, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles and bacon and yogurt. He will try whatever you give him but he also loves to share his food with Bailey.

Right now he has Justin Bieber hair. Not on purpose. Do not worry, my Bieber fever is not rubbing off. I am just avoiding the tantrum of the haircut.

He loves to play with his friends, go to music and storytime. Being outside makes him a much happier child. He loves to visit with Mrs. Burroughs, our 98 year old neighbor twice a week. She reads him books and he sits in her lap so patiently. He loves our friends and when we get to visit with them. He loves going to his daddy's work and finding all the sports memorabilla on peoples desk and stealing it. He loves his family and spending time with everyone. He really enjoys talking to his cousins Will and Caroline on the phone.

He likes to fuss when he does not get his way. Or completely fall apart and roll around on the floor. But overall he has a great temperment.

This week I have to sign him up for 2 day a week preschool for the fall and I am pretty sure I am going to sob just filling out the paperwork. He will love it but I am not ready for my baby to be growing up so fast. I am so lucky I am able to spend everyday with him. I know school will be great for him, but I will miss seeing what he does in the mornings and how much fun he has.

We start swim lesson in 2 weeks. It should be entertaining.

It is hard to believe in 4 months he will be 2. He is growing up way too fast. Sometimes I forget what he was like when he was a baby. He is a full blown little guy now. The sweetest little guy.
