Holy excitement

The holidays always seem to be overwhelming. On top of an already hectic, scattered life, I have so many gifts to buy, 200 cards to send, treats to bake, holiday parties and 4 sets of parents and 2 grandparents to see. Not to mention that this year the day after Christmas, my husband leaves for almost 2 weeks. I cannot lie, I have had a few minor breakdowns already just thinking about it. Oh well, I am focused on being happy, celebrating what Christmas is really about and making sure Hudson has a wonderful holiday. I hope he enjoys it this year. Last year he was more concerned with ribbons, boxes and wrapping paper.

Here are some things I am excited about this week...

I found these shoes today for Hudson. They never have his size so I screamed a little when I found them.

My best friend Woobs asked me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding. I was beyond thrilled and honored. I love her to death and cannot wait to share in her special, special day. This is one of my favorite pictures of us from my wedding where she stood up for me! I would also like to point out that she cried so much; her dress had wet marks all over it.....

(Her adorable Matt is in the left hand corner)

I am still obsessed with the Sing Off.

Mainly for this reason (my boyfriend, Nick Lachey)

But the groups are fabulous and I am amazed at all the talent these people have. If I could sing, you would all be in trouble. I would record myself singing the words to the blog and make you all watch it.

My other best friend Erin is going to have a baby soon. REALLY soon! (Again another wedding day photo). How beautiful is she? I cannot wait to meet Miss. Grace!

It is freezing outside. You know what that means?!?! I get to force Hudson to snuggle with me in the mornings. Sometimes he likes it but he is more concerned with getting out of my arms and running around. Today he actually layed with me for over an hour while I watched "Good Morning America" and drank my coffee. He looked at books and drank his milk. He has become very curious lately. Today he climbed up in a chair and jumped down. I literally felt my heart stop in slow motion. My favorite story of him today was when Bailey passed gas. Hudson looked at her, looked at me, closed his eyes, squinted his nose and said, "Oh yuck!" He has never said that before. It was too cute. Of course I made it say it 30 times when we were at dinner.

After 2 weeks of working late nights, I finally have my sweet, sweet husband home. I feel like my world is complete again.

And I am still completely obsessed with this picture taken last weekend. That face! I could just kiss it off!

Another attempt at Santa

We made another attempt to see Santa today. We went with my cousin David, his wife, Jenn and their precious little girl, Sutton (2 months older than Hudson). Hudson started crying as soon as he saw Santa. It makes me giggle, I guess we should go ahead and start saving money for years of therapy. They both looked so cute though. I wish I was at my mom's and could find a picture of David and I with Santa from years ago.

Hurricane Hudson

A hurricane blows through my house everyday. Hurricane Hudson. His choice of things to play with are always entertaining; Tupperware, all the canned food in the pantry, the clothes in Jonathan's dresser, dog food and dog bowls. I really am not the best disciplinarian. I start to laugh because Hudson always makes a funny face when I say, "No." I even go so far as to call Jonathan at work so he can tell Hudson over the phone not to do something. I know I have to get better but let's be honest, he is 1. It is not like he is doing anything terrible.

This morning I thought Hudson was watching Elmo so nice and quietly while I showered. In reality, he was doing this to Jonathan's dresser....

He also has become obsessed with Bailey's bed. He will push her off so he can lay on it. Do not worry, I wash it every few days so it is clean.

The "Sing Off" started last night on NBC. You are missing out if you are not watching this show! It is amazing!!! Monday and Wednesdays at 8. My boyfriend, Nick Lachey is the host.... hotiie tottie!

Loved this past weekend!!!

This past weekend was so fun. The only sad part is my husband missed it all.

Friday my dad and Lisa saved me!They brought us dinner and a ton of groceries to save us from starvation. They played with Hudson and allowed me to relax. It was so nice and I appreciate it so much. Things like that are the BIGGEST help to me. By Friday night Hudson's fever was gone and he was acting more like himself. He loves playing with them and showing them his weekly new tricks. Plus he also gets smothered in love. Thank you so much Dad and Lisa you saved a part of my sanity and it was so nice to have so many food options! You really did too much.

Saturday Jon was home until 10AM, these few hours were the most we had seen him in 8 days. We made a big pancake breakfast since our family had not eaten together in over a week. It was delicious and Hudson loved seeing his daddy across the table. That afternoon Mrs. Burroughs, our 98 year old neighbor came over so I could shower. All I could hear upstairs was laughter. Those 2 are trouble. Hudson wants to go to her house everyday. It started snowing so we walked her home so she could get warm. But Bailey, Hudson and I ran off to the park to play!!! Wouldn't you know that I just ordered him snow gear last week and non of it arrived yet! Bailey had the most fun, Hudson was a little curious but more or less hated wearing gloves!

Sunday my sweet father in law and his wife planned for Santa and Mrs. Clause to visit Lucy and Hudson. The kids had no idea. They appeared a little worried at first but eventually warmed up to him. Hudson was terrified of Santa until he gave him a basketball and they played catch. It was so nice to have quiet time with Santa instead or waiting in a line to see him. Santa also brought crayons, coloring paper and stickers.... our favorites.

Hudson warmed up to Santa after a game of toss and even more so when they colored together. I still tried to get 1 great photo of them together but it did not happen. Hudson only loves Santa from a far.

Thank you David and Pat for planning that. It was such a treat and so special. I know that not all Santa's curl up and color with kids on the floor. Hudson and I had so much fun! He was sound asleep before 6pm! We really appreciated it and it meant a lot! We cannot wait to color and play basketball tomorrow! I look forward to telling Hudson how special that was and it was all thanks to you guys! That will always be such a special memory.

It sure is beginning to feel like Christmas!!!

Santa? Add 2 more things

Santa,

I forgot 2 things that I really want.

Friday, December 3, 2010

Dear Santa,

Am I too old for a Christmas list? It is only 4 things. Just 4 big things.

We desperately need a camera that is fast. I feel like I miss so many great moments because our camera is soooooooooooo slow

A new jogging stroller to lift me out of my workout funk.

I trust your judgement on this one, Santa. Either another Bailey or a daschund like I had growing up. Surely this will cure the baby fever that is all around me with my friends and it has to be cheaper than a real child!

Health and happiness for my two favorite boys.

And since I am asking, I may as well ask for snow. Just one big snowfall.

Thank you, Santa! I promise I have been good this year.

Best Friends

If you have been reading our blog this week, you know that Hudson has been SO SICK! The only time we left the house this week was to go to the doctor; and to get him a happy meal, but I do not want to talk about that.... parental fail! His poor ear is infected (again) and he has a bad cold. He is truly pitiful and has screamed and cried all week. It makes it so much harder since Jonathan has been working non stop..... thank goodness he loves his job.

I am anti cartoons but I feel like that is all Hudson has watched. I think I have had 1 shower and maybe 2 meals in 4 days. My sleep count may be up to 4 hours a night and the bags under my eyes may be classified as "black eyes." But it is worth it to take care of my little man. I am so lucky I am able to stay home with him.

Last night was the 1st time he has been really happy in days. And guess who provided the laughs?!?!

There are no words to express how much those two love each other. Non of these pictures were posed. This is just how they interact. We are so lucky to have such a sweet, nurturing dog! Here is to hoping today is a better day!

Holiday cheer

I love to laugh. I feel like I spend most of my day laughing at the silliest things. And those of you who know me well know that I often go into the hysterical laughter where I literally cannot breath and stop crying. My husband can immitate it so well.

I make these videos every year and they always send me into complete hysterics. Enjoy. (My husband sure can shimmy!)
