Happy 70th birthday, Roast Grill

Saturday we went to The Roast Grill block party to celebrate their 70th birthday. If you have not been to The Roast Grill, you are missing out. It is the only place that I will eat a hot dog. I love that it only seats a hand full of people and you sit at a counter, serves coke out of the old fashion bottle, the owners know our names and you get a tootsie roll when you leave.

They only serve hot dogs (mustard, chili, slaw and onions- NO KETCHUP), old fashion cokes, pound cake and baklava. That is it!

I love it (it may be another obsession) and I have been patiently waiting for Hudson to be old enough to eat a hot dog. We decided that Saturday would be the perfect day. They had the street blocked off so Hudson was able to run around and look at the old fashion fire truck (you know he is obsessed), jump in a bouncy house, watch the dunking booth and look at ole fashion cars.

He also had his 1st hot dog! He liked the bun more but he did eat almost half of his dog.

And when we left the paparazzi came out. Oh wait, that was just me and Jon.

Poor Hudson. Sometimes I feel like I live in his face with a camera.

Happy birthday to The Roast Grill. I hope Hudson enjoys eating there as much with us as I did eating with my dad on Saturdays when I was growing up!
